PROTECT OUR KIDS MN
PROTECT OUR KIDS MN

In difficult moments, it is easy to feel powerless and forget the strength we hold as individuals. To counter the hateful manifestos of perpetrators of violence,
we share our own manifesto, built on love, hope, and the belief that personal and community commitments can spark societal change.

Our Beliefs

We believe children’s lives are precious and must always come before cultural habits, traditions, or possessions.

We believe every child has the right to learn, grow, and play in schools and communities free from fear of violence.

We believe that when parents and caregivers come together, they hold the power to create lasting change.

We believe that violence in schools is not inevitable, and that proven solutions can reduce harm and save lives.

We believe no parent should send a child to school wondering if they will return home.

We believe creating safer schools and communities requires collective responsibility, courage, and action.

We believe our children deserve better than a culture that normalizes violence, fear, and loss.

We believe that together we can choose love, safety, and hope over resignation and despair.

Our Commitments

We commit to supporting solutions that reduce violence and protect children.

We commit to actions and supporting initiatives that strengthen children’s safety.

We commit to listening to young people and co-creating a safer future with them.

We commit to working with schools and professionals to help every child thrive.

We commit to uniting across differences to solve the problem of gun violence.

We commit to steady, incremental steps, knowing change begins with small choices.

“Don’t doubt that a small group of thoughtful people can affect change; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead
